Activities you may enjoy this week:

  • Set up your new telescope.
  • Check out this Astronomy curriculum. You can look at the first couple of lessons at that link. If you like it and think it is something you would use, let me know and I'll order it for you.
  • Think about where you might want to go on our Girls' Trip this year, and make a sample itinerary to share with me and your sister.
  • Look up Little Free Library plans or designs, and pick one you would like to build or buy.
  • Write down what you would like to grow in your garden this spring/summer.
  • Think about which weeks you would like to attend camp this summer, so we can get you registered.
  • Make a list of books you would like to read this year.
  • Think about different ways you can earn spending money: continuing to babysit, a traditional job like at AMC or the YMCA, making things to sell on ETSY, etc.
  • Think of careers you think might interest you. The sky is the limit. This is just brainstorming, so don't let practicality hold you back at this stage. Actress, Instagram star, travel writer/photographer, neurosurgeon, President, summer camp director; they are all fair game.
  • I know you are still up in the air about college, but it won't hurt to think about places you might want to go. Check out some schools. Locally, there is USI, University of Evansville, and Ivy Tech. Indiana University is an excellent school and has a very wide range of majors. Berea College in Kentucky offers full scholarships to all accepted students. The Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) is great school for all kinds of creative pursuits. Amherst College in Massachusetts is a small, liberal arts school with an excellent astronomy/physics program, among others.

Please remember to record your activities each day in whichever way is easiest for you, and we will go over it at the end of the week. Save things like receipts, ticket stubs, art projects, and writing you do, etc. And last, but certainly not least, take pictures! Take pictures at W.A.C.K., when you go to the YMCA or the coffee shop, of you and your sister hanging out in your room, or reading, or playing games, or whatever!

Enjoy your week! Plan on meeting with me on Friday or Saturday to go over this week's activities and discuss any changes that need to be made for next week.
