Spring 2018 Planning

Ok, kiddos! It's time to get organized and get some activities and goals on the books for 2018. Please read through this, check out the links, and we'll meet this weekend to talk about how you would like to proceed.

First off, I would like for each of you to write down what you most want to learn about or participate in over the next few months. It doesn't have to be a lot; maybe just your top 3 or 5 things. That doesn't mean that you will only be learning about or doing those things; just that we'll make them a priority and make sure you have the resources you need to do them.

There are several places you can take online classes to learn about anything from ancient history to foreign languages to photography. Take a look at these links and let me know if any of this looks interesting to you:

Outschool
JAM
Udemy
Art classes at Sparketh
Time4Learning
Creative Live
Acellus Learning System

Also, everyone but Aidan is falling behind in math. Let's do our best to slowly, but surely, get caught up. I want this to be as stress-free as possible for you guys. Come prepared to discuss how you would prefer to do this. Options include private tutor, Khan Academy, workbooks, Teaching Textbooks, Life of Fred, and more, or a combination of different methods.

Please make a list of supplies you might need for the next couple of months, too; things like printer paper, art supplies, a better guitar, etc. would all go on this list.

Ava & Genevieve only: Come prepared to talk about which (if any) classes you would like to take at Ivy Tech this semester. Evie, please look up the information on the class Camilla said she would be offering in your notebook.

Other things to think about: places you might want to volunteer, projects that give back to our community like a Little Free Library or Food is Free stand, things like a weekly coffee date at a local coffee shop for our family or with friends, hosting dinner parties, a family and/or friend game night, etc.

Grab a notebook from the pile on the bookshelves in the family room, make your lists, and let's plan on meeting tomorrow, January 13, after breakfast to make our plans!
